EC 2.4.1.30 and EC 2.4.1.31 catalyze the same reaction but with different quantitative specificities, EC 2.4.1.30 phosphorolyzes laminaritriose and higher homologues at a greater rate than laminaribiose, while the opposite behavior is observed with EC 2.4.1.31 i.e. laminaribiose phosphorylase
