Details for 6-phosphofructo-2-kinase/fructose-2,6-biphosphatase complex
Gene ontology ID
GO:0043540
Definition
A homodimeric, bifunctional enzyme complex which catalyzes the synthesis and degradation of fructose 2,6-bisphosphate, and is required for both glycolysis and gluconeogenesis
Comment
Note that we use this single class to represent all 4 isoforms of this complex. We decided to do this because the isoforms do not differ in function, rather in expression and regulation. We may want to revisit this in future.
