Requires Zn²⁺. The enzyme, characterized from the bacterium Mycobacterium tuberculosis, participates in an L-cysteine biosynthesis pathway. It acts on the product of EC 2.5.1.113, [CysO sulfur-carrier protein]-thiocarboxylate-dependent cysteine synthase.
