3.1.21.B2
DNA + H2O
the enzyme forms a tetrameric structure to sandwich the double-stranded DNA and the tetrameric structure is stabilized by four salt bridges. The residues that form the salt bridges (R70 and D71) are essential for the enzyme to find the recognition sequence, The enzyme does not recognize 5'-GT-3', 5'-TA-3' and 5'-AC-3' steps in dsDNA except for 5'-GTAC-3'

3.1.21.B2
DNA + H2O
the restriction enzyme cleaves 5'-GTAC and leaves 3'-TA overhangs (5'-GTA/C)

the enzyme also has DNA glycosylase activity that excises an adenine base in the recognition sequence (5'-GTAC). At the resulting apurinic/apyrimidinic (abasic) site its AP lyase activity generates an atypical strand break
