AtSLD1 contributes to DELTA8 LCB desaturation in stems, flowers, leaves, siliques and roots, while isozyme AtSLD2 has a small effect on desaturation in every tissue, even in flowers and siliques, where AtSLD2 is highly expressed; isozyme AtSLD1 is broadly expressed in all tissues.
