BRENDA as part of the STRENDA Commission
Dr. Antje Jäde has been appointed as a new member of the STRENDA commission (Beilstein Institute) this year. STRENDA stands for “Standards for Reporting Enzymology Data” (standards for reporting on enzymological data). The STRENDA Commission consists of an international panel of highly respected scientists with diverse expertise in biochemistry, enzyme nomenclature, bioinformatics, systems biology, modeling, mechanistic enzymology and theoretical biology. The Commission developed standards for the publication of enzyme research data with the aim of improving the quality of experimental enzyme data in the scientific literature. STRENDA supports authors with STRENDA DB, a web-based input and database system that can be used to automatically check manuscript data entered before or during the publication process for compliance with STRENDA guidelines.
