General Information

General Information Comment Organism
physiological function transgenic Arabidopsis thaliana constitutively expressing SAMDC show significantly enhanced drought tolerance. The levels of main polyamines are more significantly increased in SAMDC-overexpressing transgenic plants after 6 h of drought stress as compared to stressed wild-type plants. Basal transcription of polyamine oxidase shows a much higher level in unstressed-transgenic plants compared to wild-type. ROS-induced transcription of the metacaspase II gene is remarkably inhibited in transgenic plants Capsicum annuum
