Cloned (Comment) Organism
cloning of the 21000 Da small subunit and expression in Escherichia coli BL384 Homo sapiens

Inhibitors

Inhibitors Comment Organism Structure
cystatin engineered cystatins. Recombinant hybrids of human stefin B with KS2 and DELTAL110 deletion mutants of chicken cystatin-KD2 hybrids. Substitution of the N-terminal contact region of stefin B by ther corresponding KD2 sequence results in a calpain inhibitor with a Ki-value of 188 nM. Deletion of L110 improves inhibition 4 to 8fold. All engineered cystatins are temporary inhibitors Homo sapiens
