bromoconduritol i.e. 6-bromo-3,4,5-trihydroxycyclohex-1-ene, inhibits both cleavage activities of glucosidase II. The inhibitory activity toward cleavage-2, i.e. cleavage of the second of two alpha1->3 linked Glc residues, is 6fold higher than that toward cleavage-1, i.e. removal of the penultimate Glc residue to generate Glc1Man9GlcNAc2.
