crystals of the enzyme are grown by hanging-drop vapor diffusion at 20°C after mixing 1 ml protein with 1 ml reservoir solution (0.1 M HEPES-NaOH pH 7.8, 25% w/v PEG4000, 0.2 M CaCl2) with a total reservoir volume of 300 ml. Crystals are cryo-protected by transfer into mother liquor supplemented with 25% v/v ethylene glycol prior to flash cooling in liquid nitrogen. Thermotoga maritima
