Cloned(Commentary)

Cloned (Comment) Organism
gene TcCLB.508707.200, recombinant overexpression of GFP-tagged wild-type and mutant enzymes in transgenic epimastigotes, expression analysis, enzyme fused with dimeric GFP relocalizes into protein granules inside the cell, positioned in most cases adjacent to the nucleus, while control parasites transfected with GFP conserved the cytosolic localization, overview. The observed granules all along the parasites population are of different size probably due to the heterogeneity in the expression levels of the fusion protein. The majority of this granules occupy 5-15% of the cell body Trypanosoma cruzi

Protein Variants

Protein Variants Comment Organism
H117N site-directed mutagenesis, the mutant His117N fused with GFP is inactive Trypanosoma cruzi
P95S site-directed mutagenesis, mutation in Pro95 and in the C-terminus destabilize the hexamer fused with GFP Trypanosoma cruzi
