the transcription start site of FUT1 changes during differentiation of the erythroid lineage. The tissue-specific and stage-specific expression of the FUT1 are regulated by three distinct promoters. The 5'-flanking region of exon 2 consists of repetitive sequences. The start site of exon 2 is within the long terminal repeat. The repetitive sequences may play a role in the expression of the FUT1 Homo sapiens
