Crystallization (Commentary)

Crystallization (Comment) Organism
glyphosate contacts with the active site of GOX by hydrogen bonds as well as hydrophobic and van der Waals interactions in aqueous solution to maintain its stability. The active site residues Ile15, Ser44, Gly384, Gly387, and Met388 stabilize the complex with glyphosate via six hydrogen bonds. The presence of glyphosate and aminomethylphosphonic acid in the active site significantly changes the conformation of GOX. The GOX complexes are stable during the catalytic reaction Ochrobactrum sp. G-1
