Daucus carota | polyamine levels (PAs) in shredded carrots are significantly lower than in the whole roots, due to the elevated activities of diamine oxidase (DAO) and polyamine oxidase (PAO), and of aminoaldehyde dehydrogenase (AMADH) and DcPAO expression level, indicating that the polyamines degradation pathway is activated and more PAs are converted to gamma-aminobutyrate (GABA).
