Comment

A thiol-dependent enzyme. Unlike EC 1.14.99.36, β-carotene-15,15′-monooxygenase, it is not active towards β-carotene. Presumably, 2-methyl-6-oxohepta-2,4-dienal is also formed in this reaction.
