PqsH catalyzes the terminal step in biosynthesis of the Pseudomonas quinolone signal molecule 2-heptyl-3,4-dihydroxyquinoline. Under anaerobic conditions 2-heptyl-3-hydroxy-4(1H)-quinolone is not produced.
